Fixing the Forgetful AI with Vero

AI chat interfaces act like messaging apps—linear, disposable, and taxing. Two key issues arose from real use: new users freeze at a blank input, unsure of AI's capabilities, and power users lose insights as long threads mix topics and fragment projects. The goal was to create an AI workspace that supports both casual chats and sustained work without adding technical complexity.

The result is a three-panel workspace designed for continuity. The left panel holds separate project workspace to avoid confusion. The center panel offers a familiar chat with pins, branches, and prompts. The right panel shows a timeline of key milestones, files, and directions, filtering out noise. Users can branch ideas, pin decisions, and revisit past moments easily.
The redesign started with research on six user types ranging from new to power users, all facing loss of clarity and continuity. Six principles guided the process: progressive simplicity, context visibility, non-destructive actions, and intelligent organization. The key rule was to minimize management effort, letting users focus on creating with AI.
The concept proved that thoughtful design can make AI feel human again, aware, structured, and responsive to real workflows. By transforming chat into a navigable workspace, the system turned fragmented interactions into a sustainable creative process — one that remembers, adapts, and grows with the user.
